CI/CD and deployment
Every change is tested and deployed automatically, so releasing is routine instead of an event.
How we deliver it
- We automate the build and the tests on every change.
- We deploy the same way every time, to every environment.
- Rolling back is one action.
How it works
Releasing should be the most boring part of the week. Every change runs the same tests, goes through the same review, and is deployed the same way to every environment, so shipping small changes often is safer than saving them up for a release day.
What happens when something is wrong
Most problems are caught by the tests and never reach production. The ones that slip through are undone in one action, back to the version that worked, while the fix is prepared.
What decides it
- How often you release
- Teams that release monthly feel the most relief. The goal is not speed for its own sake, but making each release small enough to be safe.
- Approvals
- Regulated teams often need a named approver for production. That approval becomes a step in the pipeline, recorded, instead of an email thread.
- Tests you have
- Few or none is common. We start with the checks that would have caught the last few incidents, and grow from there.
- Environments
- What runs between a developer’s machine and production, and whether each is a faithful copy. Differences between them are where surprises come from.
- Secrets
- Passwords and keys live in a secrets store the pipeline reads at deploy time, never in the code or in someone’s notes.
Hand over or run
Your choice, per solution. We hand it over with documentation your team can work from, or we keep it running: upgrades, monitoring and incidents, with one of us on call 24/7.
Proof
We built and run a delivery platform where over 25 developers ship to production through pull requests, reviewed by a platform team of three.
Talk to the person who builds it
Tell us what is slow, stuck, or held together by a spreadsheet. We will tell you what we think in one call, before any proposal.
